Fun with midterms

It can be frustrating, yet fun, when a student confuses the source of a quotation. After reading Clarence Walker's Mongrel Nation, a student attributed the following to none other than Thomas Jefferson:
The blacker the berry the sweeter the juice
I want a black woman for my own special use.
I need wine. Lots of wine.
