Establishing routines

Just wanted to share that Pete and I have agreed that he'll watch the boy from 10-2 on MWF so that I can be sure to dedicate at least 12 hours/week to my dissertation. Yay!

Hi,

I don't know you but I just came by your blog and saw that we were in similar points in life and thought I'd say hi. My daughter is now two. Man, the time has flown. I just thought I would see if I could offer a few words of encouragement. I remember so vividly listening to her cry and wanting so badly to run to her side when I put her down for a nap. However, since sleeping doesn't come easy to me, I felt it very important to help her to develop good sleeping habits early on. I read a book called "Becoming Baby Wise" and followed most of it's recommendations, all though some of it seemed extreme to me. Anyway, I say all of that to say it definately has paid off. Sometimes, she tells me when it's time for her nap. She gets her rest and I get mine and I feel like I'm able to be a better mother because of it. I read somewhere that children that get an adequate amount of sleep have a 5 to 10% higher IQ. And then the the breastfeeding makes it even higher. Looks like your on your way to a genius. Best Wishes for motherhood. It's been the best two years of my life.
