"Hey," I thought, "That little dog looks a lot like a badger."
So I climbed up onto the fence to get a better look.
Tip: Hanging over your neighbor's fence with a camera might be an awkward way to meet your new neighbor, unless you have an icebreaker like, "Say, did you know you have a badger in your yard?"
I'm a little worried that the badger didn't seem afraid of the dog. Or, really, me.
Oh do be careful...they are nasty nasty critters. And they could do the pup some damage.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know you made it!
I agree with Barbara. That thing to the left of his(her) head that looks like a backhoe - is its front claw!
ReplyDeleteBadgers aren't afraid of much, and for good reason. Keep you pup safe :)
ReplyDeleteI would definitely be cautious around a badger, they are rumored to be grumpy. But I think it is cool that you got to see him 'cause I don't think I have ever seen one.
ReplyDeleteNow you have to read Wind in the Willows... :)
ReplyDeleteBadgers! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteBadgers! Ack! Chris refers to them as "wolverines", and with good reason. Part of his job as a camp director was keeping kids far from badger holes.
ReplyDeleteI've lived in Idaho all my life and have never seen a badger. Be Careful (I've even gone camping)!
