Lucas babbles all the time, but very little of what he says is recognizable as English. In fact, these days he has exactly one word that he applies correctly with any regularity: Light.
Pointing his fingers at the nearest lamp, streetlight, ceiling light, Christmas lights: "Ligh?" Pause. Point. "Lighth?" Pause. Point. "Ligh?"
And we say "Yes, very good. That is a light."
Yesterday he toddled up to me, eyebrows raised, and spread his hands on his chest. "Lighth?"
Yes, very good. You are my light.
